1. Collaboration with food bloggers

Inspired by the sandwiches served up in the Galliano Club novels, promotion for the full-length books will feature collaborations with food bloggers!

Are you a food blogger? Love to cook Italian? Are you looking for a fresh, fun collaboration opportunity?

The Galliano Club thriller series consists of a prequel and three full-length novels that tell a Prohibition-era saga of murder, blackmail and revenge. The year is 1926. The place is Lido, New York, a blue-collar kind of place modeled on my hometown of Rome, New York.

The Galliano Club is a social hub for Italian mill workers in Lido. Club members drop in for bootleg beer or one of bartender Luca Lombardo’s signature  sandwiches.

But trouble is always on tap at the Galliano Club . . .

Here are some of the collaboration opportunities planned for October-December 2022:

1. Instagram contests to grow both respective account followers. Prize bundles to include Galliano Club books, Italian cookbooks, kitchen merch, Williams Sonoma cocktail kits, etc.

2. The free companion Galliano Club Signature Sandwich Cookbook featuring favorite recipes for Italian-style sandwiches from popular food bloggers and authors. There are 4 slots left. Recipes will include with attribution and blog/website links. Contributors get press release language/blog post draft and PDF copy. Perfect as a lead magnet to grow an email list.

3. Signed copies of the Galliano Club books to sell in online shops (US only).

I connected with Dr. Katharine Hutchinson-Hayes last year at the Killer Nashville conference and found her to be someone with interesting things to say. So I was delighted to be a guest on her podcast, Murder, Mystery & Mayhem Laced with Morality. She is really coming at the mystery genre in a fresh, purposeful way.

Benny was feeling pretty good as he drove back to Lido in his newly acquired Penguin Ice truck with his newly acquired inventory of Canadian beer. The trip up north had worked out even better than anticipated. Nick might think he was a big deal, ordering mugs around in that sweatshop of a mill, but Benny was the natural leader in the family.

Sal and Milo Antonelli lived on a farm in Ontario. Half a dozen cows, a field of hops, another of barley, and a barn outfitted like a brewery. Their dear old pop, who didn’t speak a word of English except “No, no!” was the brewmaster. Guess they never figured the competition would come over the border because Benny drove right up with a carload of Polish thugs and sawed-off shotguns.

After a certain amount of Chicago-style persuading, the Antonelli brothers joined the Lido Outfit. Whatever they brewed now belonged to Benny and they were going to brew double what they had before. Pops got a broken arm in the persuasion phase of the visit, which helped speed things along.

Benny made them sign a paper to finalize the new partnership. Had it in his pocket to give to Fishy. The Antonellis would get their percentage from the accountant from now on.

He’d left the Cadillac at the pumphouse and taken one of the Outfit’s cars for the rough drive up north. The boys took it back and would meet him at the pumphouse.

The country road was nice and quiet. Dusk was falling and the steeples of Lido were in view. Benny was thinking about taking Trixie dancing, maybe at the Candyland Supper Club, when a siren pealed. A police car forced him to swerve to the side of the road.

Benny cut the engine and touched the Colt Pocket Hammerless hidden under his overcoat. He was confident he wouldn’t need it. After all, wasn’t he paying two hundred a week to keep Lido’s cops in his pocket?
